Our Programs
Fidelitas currently focuses on two programs designed around a simple principle: identify a specific need and respond with meaningful, tangible support.
Blankets - Warmth, Comfort & Community for People Facing Cancer
Cancer treatment can be an incredibly difficult journey. Fidelitas works to bring an added measure of comfort to people undergoing treatment through handmade fleece blankets.
We organize service projects where middle school and high school students create thick fleece No-Sew or Tie Blankets. Completed blankets are carefully prepared and donated to local cancer centers for people progressing through their cancer treatment journey.
Each blanket represents more than warmth. It represents a community standing beside someone during a challenging chapter of life.

Each blanket becomes a tangible reminder to someone undergoing treatment that their community cares.
School Supplies & Family Connection - Starting the School Year with Success
Every child deserves to begin a new school year feeling prepared and supported. The inspiration for this program came from years of witnessing parents in custody save their limited institutional earnings to purchase school supplies for their children. Even when they could not physically be there on the first day of school, these mothers and fathers wanted their children to know how deeply they cared about their education and future.
Working with custodial agencies, Fidelitas identifies participating parents with school-age children and determines the supplies appropriate for each child's school and grade level. We then purchase, package, and send those supplies to the child. Whenever appropriate through the program, the package also includes a letter from the parent expressing their love, encouragement, and belief in the importance of education.
What's Inside a School Supply Package?
Depending on the child's school and grade-level requirements, packages may include items such as:
Notebooks
Pencils and Pens
Crayons and other classroom materials
Glue sticks
Grade-specific school supplies
A personal message of encouragement from their parent
A backpack full of school supplies helps a child prepare for class. But this program is about something even bigger: connection. It gives an incarcerated parent an opportunity to remain involved in an important moment in their child's life while helping that child begin the school year knowing that people believe in their future.
